The Middle East Business Group (MEBG) formed under the auspices
of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), was launched in March 2007 with Senior
Minister Goh Chok Tong and His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown
Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain as the Guests-of-Honor and witnesses.
As Singapore’s apex business chamber, SBF champions
the interests of the business community in trade, investment and industrial relations.
The SBF-MEBG will serve as a platform between the business communities in Singapore
and those in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by providing networking
opportunities and acting as a broad base facilitator. SBF-MEBG has especially made
headway and paved the road for Singapore companies in the MENA region and has also
assisted companies from the MENA region to successfully reach out to the Singapore
business community.
MEBG brings together both the public and private sectors to
create higher levels of synergy. Illustrious political leaders act as MEBG’s
advisors while prominent businessmen chair the group. This public-private partnership
boosts the strength of MEBG as it forges ahead to bring together the business communities
in Singapore and MENA region.
SBF-MEBG's VISION is to seek to be a premier representative
and platform for exchange between both Singapore and MENA-based companies in their
commercial pursuits. MEBG’s MISSION is to facilitate trade and business opportunities
between Singapore and MENA-based companies and its GOAL is to create a platform
to enable businessmen to source for potential partners and projects and to be a
useful information hub.
