In conjunction with the visit by Mr. Karim Helal, Group Chief Executive Officer of CI Capital Holding and Mr. Mark Rorison, Group Director and Head of Research, Singapore Business Federation (SBF) hosted a dialogue session with them to meet up with a selected group of Singapore companies to discuss and promote the investment opportunities in Egypt. The objective of the roundtable session is help Singapore businesses strengthen their understanding of the Egypt market and access to potential business opportunities through SBF partners.

Mr. Karim gave a detailed presentation which touched on the various industries in Egypt and provided an overview on the different sectors of opportunities. He also highlighted the Egypt government's efforts in their economic reforms with an emphasis on the Tourism, Water, Energy Services and Infrastructure sectors. He also mentioned the tourism industry remained a huge potential market with the gradual shift in their European neighbors travel pattern as well as the banking sector in Egypt, which was also well capitalized despite the current financial crisis with capable funding.

The dialogue session was moderated by Mr. Teng Theng Dar, CEO of SBF and Chairman of MEBG and attended by 8 participants comprising of a good mix of Singapore businessmen in the Oil and Gas Services, Textiles, Power, Shipping and Logistics, Legal, and Engineering industries. The Singapore businessmen were duly briefed on the latest developments and business opportunities in Egypt with a repeated emphasis that the current situation is the right time to venture and investment in Egypt.

Mr. Karim was greatly encouraged by the level of mix of Singapore companies presented and extended invitation and follow-up to the companies for facilitation with Egyptian partner for possible synergy partnering. They were also enthusiastic to engage the Singapore companies for projects in Egypt and SBF will follow up with the businessmen and CIB to facilitate any future projects.
